Who we are

The Ugandan Children Hope Initiative is a small, registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit run by volunteers. We exist to keep Ugandan children in school by covering the fees their families cannot.

Leadership

  • Fr. Adrian Kyambadde Executive Director. Works directly with schools in Uganda to identify students and oversees the sponsorships on the ground.
  • Jim Jackson President
  • Sharon Tranovich Treasurer
  • Jim Ryan Secretary

How we are structured

UCHI is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Ohio and with the Internal Revenue Service. We do not process donations ourselves.

All gifts are received by The Catholic Foundation, which holds them in the Ugandan Children Hope Fund. The Foundation processes each gift, credits it to the fund, and sends the acknowledgement directly to the donor. That arrangement means your gift is handled by an established institution with its own oversight, and it keeps a volunteer board out of the business of handling other people’s money.

Where the money goes

School fees. Sponsoring one student costs $1,500 for a full school year. Gifts smaller than that are pooled toward the same purpose.
